Terms of Service

The service

Galley Press converts Word manuscripts into journal galley layouts, lets you edit and proof them, and exports PDF and XML files. The service is provided for lawful scholarly and editorial work.

Accounts

Registration requires a name, email address, and password. New accounts become active only after review and approval by the administrator, and access may be refused or withdrawn for misuse. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the activity in your account.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload. You only give the service permission to store and process your documents in order to provide the features described. Do not upload content you have no right to use, and do not use the service for unlawful material. Always keep your own backup copies of manuscripts; the service stores drafts to help your workflow but does not guarantee preservation.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access other accounts, overload the service, automate bulk requests, or interfere with its operation. Accounts used this way may be suspended.

Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, and may change or be interrupted. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for lost manuscripts, lost profits, or other damages arising from use of the service.
